Bhutan Health Trust Fund helps in financing the purchase of essential drugs and vaccines for the wellbeing of all Bhutanese citizens. The funding by BHTF for the essential drugs and vaccines began in the 2014-15 FY. BHTF currently funds mainly the following three health agencies:

• • Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH)
  • Department of Medical Services and Health Infrastructure (DMSHI)
  • Vaccine-Preventable Disease Programme (VPDP)

Since its inception, BHTF has financed more than Nu 1 billion on Essential Drugs and vaccines.
