On behalf of the Bhutan Health Trust Fund (BHTF) Board, Mr. Karma, the Interim Chairperson of BHTF, received a donation of Nu. 618,206/- (Ngultrum Six Lakhs Eighteen Thousand Two Hundred and Six) from the Thrizin representing the people of Punakha Dzongkhag on 7th November 2023. The Interim Chairperson conveyed gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the Thrizin and the entire community of Punakha Dzongkhag for their inspiring initiative, unwavering solidarity and generous support to the BHTF which will go a long way towards ensuring the continued supply of quality, effective and safe essential drugs and vaccines in the country. Established in 2000 as per the Royal Charter, the BHTF provides financial support for the procurement of essential drugs and vaccines by the Ministry of Health. Annually, on average around Nu. 420 million is released to the Ministry of Finance by the BHTF. For the fiscal year 2023-24, total of Nu. 525 million is committed by the Fund.
