An amount of Nu. 150 million has been released to the Department of Medical Supplies and Health Infrastructure (DMSHI) as the 1st and 2nd Quarter funding for the procurement of essential drugs for the financial year 2022-2023. Hope that this amount would benefit all Bhutanese people to continue receiving free medicines and health services. BHTF would like to thank all our well-wishers and donors for your continued support.

A farewell dinner was organized on 12th January 2022 for Dr. Sonam Phuntsho, the outgoing Director of Bhutan Health Trust Fund. The Chairperson and members of the BHTF Board graced the occasion. The Chairperson, honourable Health Minister, Dasho Dechen Wangmo expressed gratitude to Dr. Sonam Phuntsho for his boundless support and dedicated service to Bhutan Health Trust Fund for the past six years.
On 12th January, 2022, the outgoing Director of BHTF, Dr. Sonam Phuntsho has officially handed over the responsibility of the day to day functioning of the BHTF Secretariat to Mr Sonam Dhendup, Sr Program Officer in the presence of Dr. Karma Lhazeen, Director, Department of Medical Services who will oversee the functioning of BHTF as a Board representative until the appointment of the new Director.
Bhutan Health Trust Fund(BHTF) organized a consultative meeting with stakeholders from the Ministry of Health (MoH) to discuss the ways to curb the escalating cost of financing essential drugs and vaccines on 16th December at MoH, conference hall. The meeting was chaired by the honourable Dasho Health Secretary.
