The special BHTF lottery draw was held on February 5th 2018 coinciding with the birth anniversary of the Gyalsay. BHTF was able to collect about Nu. 29 million in profit after deducting prize money and expenses. 

BHTF decided to forgo the yearly Move for Health Walk event and instead planned an initiative in collaboration with Bhutan Lottery Limited (BLL) to bring out a Move for Health Special lottery. A total of 300,000 tickets (15,000 booklets) were printed. Each ticket was priced at Nu 300. First, second and third prize money was set at Nu 5, 2 & 1 million respectively. Ministries, Dzongkhags, and other agencies aided BHTF in the distribution and sale of the Lottery. 

The Draw was held at the Clock Tower, Thimphu with His Excellency the Prime Minister, Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay and the Health Minister attending the event. The event was also broadcast live by BBS. The special lottery was a part of the Bhutan Health Trust Fund’s initiative to double the fund from over Nu 1.5bn to Nu 3bn. 

BHTF in collaboration with the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), also organized a three-day medical expo with pharmaceutical suppliers of Bhutan and manufacturers and distributors of medical products from neighboring countries like Thailand, Nepal and India taking part.
